Burner and Grid Question

I was wondering if anyone has grilled with different burners and grids. What is the difference between cast iron and stainless steel burners? What are the strengths and weaknesses of each? Which do you prefer?

Ditto for grids? I'm picking between porcelain coated steel and porcelain coated cast iron.

I know I could just go buy a new one. I'm restoring an old charmglow 3200. It is super thick walled aluminum and cooks meat do darn good. I haven't seen anything even close for many years.
