New Grill construction questions

Hello, I was given a new Kenmore 3 burner grill as a gift (that I am taking a break from assembling as I write this) It looks nice but one thing I can't seem to get past is the flimsy material it is made out of. It is this thin tin or whatever that all grills seem to be made out of now. The grill I have outside right now is a little old Sunbeam Grill Master and that thing is built like a tank. The Grill Head is thick like a Dutch Oven. It seems like the sunbeam will keep heat in better than these thin things. Am I wrong about this? Are there any current grill manufacturers that make solid construction for a low price..say around $300? Thanks!
