Cleaning Stainless Weber Grates...

Just got a Genesis S310 at the Depot, it has those pretty 7mm Stainless rod cooking grates and the manual suggests a stainless wire brush for cleaning. At the moment I only have a brass bristle brush that I use when the grill is heated up, to clean with and it has a heat resistant wooden handle. The stainless brushes are all plastic and can only be used on a cold grill. What is the best way to take care of these stainless grates???
