I have the 30 inch pro model. It is big enough for me, as I use it to strictly grill (I have 2 smokers for ribs, butts, briskets, etc), but I have cooked for 15 people pretty easily on the Lynx though. The 2 burners are enough, unless you regularly cook for a large family and have the meat, veggies, etc all on the grill at one time. Temp changes happen pretty easily and quickly, even with the ceramic briquettes. The ceramic briquettes are the main reason (along with the better deal I got) that I chose the Lynx. I think they do a better job of flare up control then the SS shields on the FM and they give the food a bit more of a smoky taste...more like grilling over charcoal imo. Also, the Lynx has the built in light, and I got the rotissierie with it (although I have only used it 2-3 times in 3 years). A big difference imo is the hood...the Lynx's hood has a 2-3 inch gap on the back...(the vent). It is pretty big...the FM hood fits a lot tighter...hardly any gap back there (more like a Weber hood or a smoker). For grilling, this does not matter, but if you were going to use the grill as a cooker as well (I don't) I think the FM would cook indirectly a bit better I think (holding more of the indirect heat in and more of a convection effect. The FM's have more BTU's per square inch..I do not think you can find a grill with more BTU's per square inch...they really pump out the heat. The Lynx does too, as the grate temps get to 1000 degrees. The burners are trully a work of art...until you see one in person and actually take it out and pick it up, it is hard to fathom how heavy duty they are...they make all other frill burners look like a cheap tin man POS! You really cannot go wrong with either one..I have cooked on a lot of grills and I cook a lot and I believe that when you compare the build quality, parts quality, and performance, I think they are 2 of the best, if not THE 2 best grills out there. You pay for it, but they are definately worth it if you cook a lot. Good luck!
