I have had a couple webers in the past and they are great grills...best under 1k imo. I have also had the chinese made units....no good imo...the weber will outcook them most everytime and last a lot longer....they just work good.
Now, getting into Lynx and FM grills, that is another deal altogether. I have had a Lynx for 3 years now. Both will and do cook differently (better imo) and will outlast anything Weber can put out. The burners are 1/4 inch thick solid brass (lynx) or SS (FM). I think my burners on my Lynx weigh 5-7 lbs a piece..they could survive a shotgun blast (they are that impressive) The heat output is much, much higher on these units as well. You get a wonderful crust on your burgers and steaks that cannot be made on a weber. The heat is more even across the cooking grid as well. The Lynx has all welded SS construction..there are no painted surfaces. Both look and feel like a commercial quality grill that you see in top of the line 4 and 5 star restaurants (which is where they are..Lynx grills are used in several restaurants across the country). Bottom line, if you have the cash, get the Lynx or FM..whichever appeals to you more...you will not regret it, they will last forever (literally), and yours will more then likely be bigger and better then any of your neighbors!
