I have a Summit 420 and Weber covers do have vent holes in them. On mine the water hits the side tables but I don't have knobs on mine like you do. It does keep the water from getting into the drip tray like it would without a cover on. The holes let air circulate so the cover doesn't trap moisture inside for too long. There are other covers out there without holes if you want and there's lots of debates over the holes in the cover on other web pages.
