FM is the much better grill imo...if you saw the burner comparison, and the build quality comparison, there really is no comparison. TEC's have the name, because of their experience with infared cooking, but the FM is far superior as well as one of THE best grills money can buy...my decision came down to FM and Lynx, and I got the Lynx because of the better deal (and I love it), but FM is top shelf
