only use SS safe blue scotch pads (do not use the yellow and green ones..they scratch). Get some SS cleaner (used for SS ovens, etc) and heat the grill up, and while hot, spray your cleaner on it, then start scrubbing and rubbing...the gunk comes off much easier when the grill is hot. Also, there is some commercial grade liquid SS metal cleaner that works great (I got some when I purchased my Lynx grill, but I loaned it out, and have not seen it since) - it is a metal container (looks like a can of turpentine). Do a search on it, as that stuff is great...the gunk comes right off, and it almost puts a sealant on the grill and it is very smooth..good luck
