All Webers (and most other grills now) have flavorizer bars. I understand the upside of them is that flare-ups are elimanated.
My concern is that while I do not want major flare-ups, I do want some interaction of the flames with the food. The flavorizer bar totaly covers the flame so I do not see how any of the flame will ever produce the desired mini-flare-up.
My current $200 Grillmaster grill which is 13 years old and on it's last legs uses ceramic bricquetts which work wonderful for flame interaction with food. I am looking at the Weber Genesis E-310.
Can anyone who has flavorizer bars comment on their perfomance in regards to flame-to-food interaction.
Thanks!!
