I would only get an infared grill that had one infared burner on it (with a regular burner on the other side). I am not a big fan of Tek grills (all infared) They are great at searing steaks or burgers, but you do give up some control for chicken, etc that needs a bit lower temp. The infared cooks totally different then a radiant heat grill (normal grill). Your sear marks will be from the space between the rods, and it cooks fast...the better ones will get to over 1000 degrees in a matter of minutes. An inch and a half thick steak can be seared on one side for 2 minutes, flip it, sear another 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, take it off to rest, and it is done. Different kind of cooking to be sure - if y ou
