I have not posted often on this forum but want to get some opinions. I have had a Weber Genesis Gold B gas grill for about 6 years. I also own a WSM and have had several charcoal kettles over the years. I love the Genesis but herein lies my dilemma. AAFES (more commonly known as the PX/BX) is selling the Summit Gold A6 online for $839.95 and $50 shipping. They have unadvertised 10 and 20 percent off specials for one day at a time between now and Christmas. Would you, if given the opportunity to buy this grill for under $800 do it even though you have been happy with your Genesis Gold. A Weber Summit has been my "dream gasser" since the first one I saw years ago. Another question. Does anyone know if Weber is still using the welded stainless steel rod for their Summit cooking grates or have they gone to the welded formed stainless steel grates like the Genesis Gold and Platinum use.
