You are right, nothing worse than a steak that has been kept in a holding pattern. Unfortunately, I don't have any choice. Like you said, the well done ones will be fine. I plan on cooking the rest of them to a not quite done stage, put them in a pan, pour some beef broth on them, cover the pans with foil, and hope for the best.
