There is a safety device in the new style tanks that detects leaks in the line. If you replace a bottle and the lines are empty and you turn the tank on real fast the safety device kicks in and really reduces the flow of gas to almost zero. Turning the tank off and letting it sit for about 5 minutes then turning on slowly with all burners OFF usually solves the problem.
