I've deep fried turkeys and they turn out great, not greasy at all and
they have a crispy skin. Good stuff. I usually let the oil cool down
over night, then pour it through a filter back into the original
container. The oil can be reused. I fry up some taters which 'cleans' the
oil a bit. Besides turkey, you can do chicken, fish,
breaded okra, onion rings, just to name a few. It depends on how much
frying you do as to how long you can reuse / keep it. Use the BBQ Search
feature on this site as there was a discussion some time back about the
keeping properties of oil.
