Yes you CAN and you can do it BETTER than with just about any grill made. That l-r config is WAY nire useful in that size grill and when you actually use one you will wonder what the rest of the world is thinking. Depending how hot you want the unit you can indirect with 1 or 2 burners in different arrangements. You will also be able to rotis. better than ANY IR equipped grill (of course that statement will start a flame war no pun intended) but I have done it with both and there isn't a person I've cooked for that didn't enjoy the weber spun food better than the IR spun food.
