I am pretty much with Brett on this. I have used it in the smoker a couple of times and can't really tell any difference that pokes through all the other variables like air temp, wind, etc. I didn't have any trouble controlling the smoker temp with it. Whether it took more or less of it I have no idea, I swear how much fuel I use is all up to the whims of the bbq gods. Some days it seems I use more than others for no good reason.
