I'm just one of them Backyard guys...A good deal of the BBQ pros and Grillers around here for the most part, have their procedures and product dialed in tight enough that they can change a single small variable here ~or~ there and decide if it was a positive move or a negative one.

My thought is to take it with a grain of salt...Kingsford reformulating a decades old briquette is fairly significant at the market level. This leads some folks to try and pick it apart and raise cane when the slightest of difference (+/-) is found. As with any new & improved product, bloviating may soon follow over that smallest of changes...IMHO

Give it a go, both on the BBQ and the Grill. It may fit better into your processes and cookin' style...it might not. I just can't tell enough of a difference that would cause me to change much of anything...
