I have a platinum C4. I highly recommend it. The smoker box works great. The only negative about the smoke box is that you have to open the grill lid to add wood. The positive is that it is big enough to use wood chunks instead of wood chips (last longer, and not as messy). When you use the smoker box, keep the smoker burner on low - you don't want the wood to catch fire. Use one of the other burners to regulate the temp. I would recommend that you look at the platinum series, instead of the gold. The big difference is the grates. The platinum series has very heavy duty grates.
