The board or computer did not want to take my response to Newbie, chips & charcoal so I started a new messages.

I had trouble with chips also, I had one of those little cast iron chip box. That did not work that well. Then after a google search I found Sams Smoker Pro. A stainless steel smoking box. I really like it. I use chips and pellets both. The website is www.samssmoker.com

I also found a Weber chip soaker that is real nice to use. You can find it at www.thegrillsuperstore.com
in the barbeque smoker section. Inexpensive and real handy.

I really like using pellets for grilling and both pellets and wood chunks for smokin. You do not have to soak the pellets, just put em in the box and let em go. I get my pellets from Epps Farms at www.bbqwoodpellets.com
They seem to have good prices and a good selection.

Can't believe on chimney of charcoal would not cook a couple three chickes without having to add more charcoal.
