IMHO, you don't have to spend that amount of money to have a good charcoal grill. I have a Chargriller and it does a great job on everything I've cooked on it. One of the features I like is that the castiron grates are in 4 sections. Makes fire tending easy, especially on long cooks. For example, for beer can chicken, I use the two center grates. By leaving out the two side grates, I can easily replinish the coals on either side.
Also like the ease of adjusting the firepan to the height needed to increase/decrease the heat under the meat. Warming rack is easy to remove when more height on the grill surface is needed.
This is the 3rd summer for mine and it still looks great and cooks even better. BTW, I have the Super Pro model. If you'd like to use your grill to do long and slow cooks (smoking foods) add the side fire box. (I already had a separate smoker, but am thinking about adding it to mine for extra capacity.)
With the budget that you have, consider spending the extra money on other things to outfit your outdoor kitchen. Metal topped table, cabinet with sink, outdoor refigerator, etc.
Hope this is helpful.
