I have a Summit Gold A and am very happy with it. Some of the other responses mentioned controls on the side and burners that run left-to-right. The Summit line is not layed out this way. The controls are in front and the burners (6 of them) run front-to-back. Another response mentioned the grates and flavorizer bars burning out quickly. The Summit line uses heavy 304-grade stainless for both. These do not burn out quickly. In fact the warranty on the bars is 5 years and the grates is 7 years. The Summit Gold A is the same basic grill as the Summit Gold D you're asking about. The difference is the D also has a smoker box w/dedicated burner, an IR rotisserie and a side burner. If you need the massive cooking surface, it's a terrific grill for the price.
