When you are done cooking cover the entire grill area with heavy duty foil, close the lid and turn the burners as high as they will go. This will burn off anything from the foil down including the rocks and flavorizer bars. You will see a ton of smoke coming out of the grill. the cleaning is done once the smoke has subsided. Be careful when opening the gril because you might get a flare up or foil floating up from the heat.
Remove the foil and coat the grates with oil and you are done.
