I have the 075 and use it quite often. I'll usually set it to smoke mode and let it smoke the food for several hours before I turn up the heat to 225 and start the barbecue proper.
If mine were crushed by a tree and I had the extra money I'd get the FE-1000. I think the box shape and the insulation are both plusses. If I didn't have the extra cash, I'd probably get another Traeger.
