Actually, Weber used to run all their burners like the Summit's. They changed to the current config with the Genesis models.
Very easy to do indirect. Light the front burner only and you got it made. Doesn't make any difference if you are using one "side" or just the "back" of the grill.....same great indirect cooking results. I like the front burner only because if the temp is still a bit hot, you can crack the lid a bit and drain those few degrees of extra heat.
