The thing you will find out, is that usually most big box retailers use their buying power to improve the product rather than cheapen it. For example, Weber, at Home Depot we sell all the Genesis Silver Series grills with coated cast iron grates which are only available from HD as a standard feature. That's a $50 product inhancement. We sell it for the same price a smaller retailer sells it for without the cast iron grates. It's a way to close a sale when your in competetion against someone else. In Charbroils case, we don't sell the same grills that the Wally World accross the street does, they stock a completely different product mix. Fiesta has the new Optima series of grills and for the dollar value it's a great buy, but we don't sell it any cheaper than anyone else but we order 30 at a time, just for our store, so we have them when no one else does. On special buys, it would defy logic to cheapen the product, all comsumers are very aware of what's available in the marketplace and will almost always buy the best value in their price range, whatever their range is. At HD we try to use the buying power to improve customer service and availability, not to take short cuts to the bottom line.
