Doublecheck the Weber grill cover for a built-in hook that allows you to 'hang' the cover on the side of the kettle. I have an 18" Weber with the hook feature.
Also, I have found that an adjustable grate is not needed in the Weber as heat can be easily adjusted with the bowl vents. (allowing more oxygen yields a hotter burn - easy peasy)
